Movielink.com rental policy is bad

I rented two movies for a business trip. They were war-type movies that my wife would not want to watch. You have to have 2 free hours in a 24 hour period to watch the movie. I can find 2 free hours in a 48 or 72 hour period, but with work, kids, and civic duties, I could not find a time to be guaranteed 2 free hours in a 24 hour period. Thus, I was always afraid to start watching it because I knew I likely would not finish it.

I emailed movielink before the movie expired and stated this problem and they said to watch for future policy changes. But that didn't help for one of the movies I was unable to watch due to its expiring as a result of my above fear to start watching it. I then emailed Movielink about this expiration and received no response for several weeks. I called and they said they would not allow me to watch this movie that I paid to rent.

Thus, I am no longer a Movielink customer.

FTC Complaint Filed for onestepahead.com and storkavenue.com

I used a one-time-only email address when ordering from One Step Ahead in April of 2002. This one-time-only email address received an unsolicited commercial email (UCE / spam) advertisement from Stork Avenue today. This usage of the email address does not appear to be permitted by the privacy policy displayed on One Step Ahead's web site.

So I filed a complaint today on the FTC site at Complaint Form.

AT&T Wireless

I have been a customer of 2 wireless accounts on AT&T Wireless for over two years. About a year ago, they messed up on their system upgrade and removed the ability for folks who get a employer discount to view minutes.

THEY NEED TO FIX THIS!!

"View Minutes Unfortunately, we show that your account type association is ineligible for the View Minutes feature. To learn more about signing up for View Minutes, please see View Minutes FAQs. For any further questions please call Customer Service at 1-800-888-7600 and reference message 2323.

Coca Cola can't keep machines full & button lies

Pet Peeve number 1: The coke machines in my building repeatedly keep running out of my choice of soft drink. Repeated contacts with the company have resulted in little improvement over 6 months time.

Pet Peeve number 2: The machine won't tell you it is sold out until you put money in. Press the button without paying and it doesn't tell you the selection is sold out.

Ticketmaster Spamming

We specifically opted out of ticketmaster's email lists when we purchased tickets a few days ago, but now they have sent us spam and promise to send more. Ticketmaster needs competition to their monopoly.

First Citizens Bank has no Quicken access to VISA accounts

I found this very useful when I was with Centura Bank. I was dissatisfied with Centura and moved to FC.

First Citizens Bank Voice Response Unit (VRU)

I wanted to pay my VISA bill and left it at work. So I call the number on the back and the VRU gives me all this great info, BUT NOT THE FULL BALANCE DUE ON THE LAST BILL SO I CAN PAY IT OFF!!

They must want customers to carry a balance and pay interest because they tell you when the payment is due along with the minimum amount. They also tell you the current balance (more than the amount due), and the last payment amount and date.

REMEDY: Include the full amount due as one of the items on the account information response.
